There are faces we already know by heart. They live on millions of screens, on covers, in headlines. Here they are not headlines: they are form and color. My cubist, expressive style fragments what the camera captures whole: an eye becomes geometry, hair turns into planes of color, an expression breaks down into lines that reveal more than a photograph. I do not portray the people — I portray what they represent, what they project, what we are able to see in them. Icons, Reimagined is a collection of digital portraits where fame dissolves and what remains is the human. Each piece is a dialogue between the public face and my way of seeing it: what is recognizable breaks apart so that what is essential can appear.
