Fadwa Morabet is a painter with a passion for catching the essence of life in a single image. Creativity runs deep in her family, and she has spent her life sharpening it — training first as an interior designer, a discipline that still governs how she weighs colour, composition and line, then earning diplomas to teach mixed arts to students of every age.
For most of her professional life she was a high-school librarian, a post that kept art and literature close at hand. She grew up in Tangier, steeped in the city's restless art scene; the contrast between its crowded streets and its calm Atlantic light runs through everything she paints. Her portraits hold movement, feeling and the fleeting moment — faces assembled from planes, then inscribed with the tattoo-symbols, fibula silver and zellige geometry of the Amazigh world.
